The AOPA is a national organization representing over 340,000 members, or approximately half of all pilots in the United States. They are presently the premier organization representing the interests of General Aviation in opposition to very powerful political and business groups. Many business and governmental entities would prefer to see all of General Aviation taxed out of existence. If you are an advocate of a free and open society, and support aviation, the AOPA is an organization worthy of your consideration.
The Experimental Aircraft Association is dedicated to furthering general aviation interests and activities. The EAA is a national organization headquartered in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and over 1000 local chapters throughout the United States. If you are interested in restoring antique aircraft, building an airplane of your own or just interested in learning to fly, the EAA is an excellent place to start.
